Women for Women International in Support of DR Congo
Over five million people have died during the past decade as a result of the conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). 2 million people remain internally displaced and more than 300,000 refugees have escaped the violence in the DRC by fleeing to overpopulated refugee camps in neighboring countries. The scale of human suffering, death, violence and loss endured by the women and children of this region is beyond comprehension.
As quilters we strive to bring hope and love to those who need it most. Through the gift of a quilt, a monetary donation or volunteer work. Thanks to our friends De and Tim Cook, we can get quilts delivered directly to the orphanages in the DRC about once a year. If you are interested in donating a finished quilt (twin size or smaller) we will make sure it gets delivered to a Congolese child who needs it. Please mail quilts to: Toadusew Congo Quilts, 8668 Navarre Parkway #370, Navarre FL 32566

Proceeds from the Special Edition of the Hopeful Beginnings pattern with the pink cover were donated to Susan G. Komen in support of finding a cure for breast cancer. The donation was made by Toadusew on behalf of quilters everywhere who have been affected by Breast Cancer.  Thank you to all for your support!
