Chloe Anderson

Chloe stumbled onto quilting in 2005 while trying to repair a quilt made by her mother. Her background in commercial design created the perfect foundation for her as she fell in love with quilting and expressing herself with fabric. Making her first quilt was the beginning of her love and addiction to making and designing quilts including the recent purchase of an A-1 Elite Long Arm quilting machine. She shares a home with her husband Don, dog Liam and 2 cats in sunny Navarre Beach, Florida.

Colleen Reale

Colleen began quilting in 2000 after retiring from her career as a university professor. Her years of experience in teaching and health care practice account for her attention to detail and accuracy when designing and writing patterns. Although, her designs frequently gravitate toward a contemporary style, they are generally grounded by precise traditional piecing. She currently resides in the beautiful gulf coast community of Navarre, FL with her husband Mario.

Our Partnership

People who know us, wonder how we ever got together as we are so different. Our different backgrounds, styles and tastes really are our greatest asset not only in the designs we create together but in our daily tasks of running the business. Our approach to design is very emotional and a fabric collection can inspire us in very different directions. We are both very stubborn which can result in the first phase of a design being a very emotional process. Without the passionate debates about every detail of the design, our patterns and quilts wouldn’t be special. It’s the fusion of both our ideas and inspirations that make our designs unique and different.

Our partnership is very important, and if we both brought the same assets to the table, the business wouldn’t need both of us. We question and validate each other decisions, share the failures and victories and constantly encourage each other. Colleen brings a level head and sound judgment where as Chloe encourages the company to take risks and embrace the unexpected. This combination has allowed Toadusew to grow very quickly while providing an innovative high quality product that appeals to quilters of all levels and backgrounds.
