The Winning Croak Is….

Friday, April 30th, 2010

Thank you to everyone who posted their comments in our blog, store and snail mail – we loved them all! We Just did the random draw and were really happy to see one of our favorite comments come out of the hat (don’t you love it when life works out like that?).

The winner is Miss Karma with her comment:

“I got a Toadusew kit as a gift and was so impressed with the ease of the directions and the fabric combinations. I’m now a “Toadusew groupie”. ”

You just know we love anyone willing to call themselves a Toad or groupie LOL! We hope she’ll enjoy the treats we’ll be sending her. Thank you again to all, we loved hearing from everyone and hope youll continue to tell us what you think – the good, bad and ugly :-) .

Great Black and White Orginal

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

We always love seeing other quilters versions of our designs, especially when they are totally different from the ones we’ve made. I saw a really unique version of Thinking Outside the Block today on the Quilting Board Forum (http://www.quiltingboard.com/) that I wanted to share. Yvonne made the quilt for her Grandsons 11th birthday after he approved the pattern and helped her pick out the fabrics. Looks like together they did a pretty awesome job!

Special News & Spring Projects

Monday, April 12th, 2010

We’ve got some super exciting news to share this month… a quilt designed and made by one of our local quilters and loyal Toadsters, Debbie Crawford, is featured on the cover of Quilter’s World (June 2010)! Congratulations Debbie – YOU GO GIRL!

We’ve also got a couple of projects buried somewhere in the pages of Quilter’s World, under that cover of Debbie’s . Every year we do a project using stripe batiks, we can’t help ourselves – these fabrics really are something special. We know we’re not alone in our love for these fabrics because we never seem to have enough kits for everyone who wants one, no matter how much fabric we order. Spin Cycle features two stripe batiks that create a simple woven “spin”. It’s super easy, fast and a great color combo to be working with this time of year!

Spin Cycle Summer Shimmer

Also featured in the June issue of Quilters World is Summer Shimmer, a small sophisticated quilt featuring some rich fabrics and sumptuous silks. If you’ve been wanting to experiment with silk, Summer Shimmer is the perfect project to add this textile without having to make a huge commitment. We have kits featuring Radiance silks from Robert Kaufman which are very easy to work with and stand up well in the finished project.
